Soft Edit is a local-first mood-board app. Your editable boards, imported images, and image-editing results are stored on your device. Soft Edit does not include user accounts, advertising, analytics, or cross-app tracking.
Information handled by Soft Edit
Content you create or select
This includes mood boards, text, colors, layouts, images you choose through Apple's photo picker, and images you export. Editable app content remains on your device unless you choose to share an exported board.
Local preferences and files
Soft Edit stores app preferences, project records, imported images, and editing files in the app's storage on your device. These are used to preserve your projects and settings.
Support messages
If you email support, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments or diagnostic details you choose to provide. We use them only to respond, troubleshoot, maintain a record of the resolution, and improve Soft Edit.
Photos and image editing
Soft Edit uses Apple's system photo picker when you select images. When you choose Save to Album, it requests add-only Photos access; it does not request unrestricted access to browse your photo library.
Background removal and other image editing run on your device. Soft Edit does not upload your imported images or editable boards to a background-removal service.
Network activity and service providers
Soft Edit contacts Supabase to retrieve the public sticker and background catalog and its image files. These requests may expose standard network information to Supabase, such as an IP address, request time, HTTP or device information, and the requested resource. Supabase may retain operational and security logs under its own practices. Soft Edit does not send your boards or imported photos to Supabase.
The current version of Soft Edit does not retrieve retailer or product webpages. GitHub hosts this Privacy Policy and Support site and may process standard website request logs. Email providers process correspondence when you contact support.

Sale, advertising, and tracking
Soft Edit does not sell or rent personal information, use your content for advertising, or track you across apps and websites. Service providers receive only the information necessary to provide the functions described above.
Retention and deletion
App content remains on your device until you delete it in Soft Edit, remove the app, or erase its device data. Because Soft Edit has no user-account service, there is no cloud account to delete.
Support correspondence is kept only as long as reasonably needed to resolve your request, maintain a record of the resolution, or meet legal obligations. You may ask us to delete support correspondence. Service providers control their own operational-log retention.
Your choices
- Choose which images to import through Apple's photo picker.
- Decline Photos add permission and use the share sheet instead.
- Delete projects and imported assets inside Soft Edit.
- Avoid remote stickers or backgrounds when you prefer not to contact Supabase.
- Request deletion of support correspondence by contacting us.
Children
Soft Edit is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child sent personal information through support, contact us so we can review and delete it.
International processing and security
The service providers described above may process information in countries other than your own. We use reasonable measures suited to the limited information we handle, but no storage or transmission method is completely secure.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when Soft Edit's features or data practices change. The effective date at the top identifies the current version.
